Perfect for anyone wanting to dip their toe into the ukulele water, our Honu series was designed to provide as much instrument as we could at an entry level price. The all sapele construction provides a warm tone, similar to that of mahogany, but the Honu is more durable and less susceptible to humidity and temperature changes than our solid top models, the Mano and Kohala. As with all Honolua Ukuleles, it includes premium features designed to produce the best tone possible at an affordable price, including bone nut and saddle for better clarity and sustain, quality open gear tuners and eco-friendly wood selections.

Honu Series
Our Honu Series is perfect for the beginner ukulele player. The all-laminate sapele construction provides a full, bright tone and the laminate construction means it is durable and less susceptible to humidity changes. Aesthetically, it’s fairly simple, but it never compromises on sound quality.

As the name suggests, a baritone ukulele is the largest and deepest sounding of all of the ukulele sizes. Usually tuned like the highest four strings of a guitar (DGBE), rather than the GCEA tuning found on most ukes, a baritone is great if you have a background in guitar because you won't have to learn any new chord shapes. They are also very fun if you are a ukulele player looking to experiment with a different tone.

I got this for Christmas and it has been a wonder. I started a band wrote songs. But the biggest thing is I love the pick-up like yeah I use it when I'm live or for playing with pedals but the tuner being with me all the time is so helpful.
I have both the Spalted Tenor and the Baritone. My Granddaughter laid claim to the Tenor, and I ordered a Baritone, changed the strings to gcea, so I could continue to teach in that format. Enjoy the pictures. Both very good instruments.

I got a Honu Baritone Acoustic Electric on sale. It is a well-made instrument and great value at this price. Overall construction looks good to me. Machine heads work but a little cheap feeling.
The factory strings on mine were maybe old stock. D and G were corroded.
On day 2, the D snapped while just sitting there on a stand. I tuned correctly DGBE.
Anyway, minor issue. I bought a new set of strings and she sounds better now.
The built in tuner and pickup seems to work great. Happy with my purchase. Might want a Tenor too 😁
The build quality is excellent! Love the sound and feel of this instrument and so happy it is part of my collection of instruments! Would definitely recommend, and purchase again! Thank you Honolau!
I'm not able to play guitar anymore. Arthritis is not my friend. My brother suggested a baritone uke. It's exactly what i needed. It's a beautifully made instrument and the baritone is perfect if you are missing playing guitar. The deeper tone is quite satisfying. Honolua also plants 5 trees when you buy one and they are Canadian. That went a long way in choosing where I was going to make my purchase.
